Lucy loves to dance! We have had such a great experience with Virginia Tanner Dance the last few years. With their preschool, creative dance classes, art, and their program at our school. A couple of months ago was the recital...it was so beautiful. Lucy also got to do a dance/art camp with her cousin Tenley when Amby and her girls were visiting a couple of weeks ago. Here is some footage of that and of Lucy's recital a couple months ago (Ryan took video even though Kingsbury hall said we weren't supposed to...so it is a little shaky).

Molly's Dance Recital
I am finally getting to blog posts from two months ago. Here is Molly June at her dance recital awhile back. We love seeing how happy this makes her. She gets so excited for it. This recital is totally low key, and completely perfect for a three year old.

Rex Knows Manners
Last week Rex got a call from a mom in our neighborhood who had been hit up by a KSL reporter looking for some local kids to participate in a piece about manners. The reporter took several kids to lunch and chatted them up on how to be polite.
You can see the video here. Rex doesn't get a word in, but does get a few smirks, and a lot of truly exemplary behavior on camera. He also gets a solid quote in the accompanying article.
Not how I would have chosen to use up my fifteen minutes of fame, but he made a decent run at it.

So Cal

We had amazing week long trip to Southern California again this year. We broke it up a little this time. First , off to my aunts amazing beach house for some very low key, lounging family time on the beach. We got to spend the fourth with the Hougaards , who live in Seal Beach and the Florences who came down from their family vacation in Ventura. We also got to spend time with the Beans who were vacationing there too. It was the perfect fourth! All day long sitting out on the sand watching the kids go crazy in the waves, then a great bbq at the Hougaard's home, and off to the fireworks. So fun, and so relaxing. I get a little trapped in vacation mode and have the hardest time leaving that place, but this time it was a little easier leaving because we headed down south to San Diego for the annual bar convention. The hotel was right on the bay and we got to spend time with so many friends that were at this event too. What a great trip, and oh boy was it hard to come on back.

We love Baseball!
Each season Rex plays a different sport, sometimes overlapping with each other, but each season whatever sport he is playing becomes my favorite. It is usually soccer, which I will always have a huge love for because it is the sport that Rex started with , and his super driven personality really came out. It is really fun to watch his mind work when he plays. He is a really good quick decision maker which is a great talent in these sports, and I love to watch it. I also love soccer because he plays two seasons of it. Then he plays basketball in the winter which is always great too, and then summertime brings baseball. There is nothing like sitting at a ballpark in the summer watching your kid play baseball. I am not sure my girls feel the same way, but they did sell popsicles yesterday at his game and brought in some serious cash.
I grew up in a family full of girls, and so I was never apart of the team sport world, but I can see how parents get so into their kids sports. I guess I had alot more of that competitive drive than I thought. Watching Rex play sports is one of my favorite things to do, and that doesn't mean I will be upset if in a few years he decides to put his talents elsewhere, but I will always love these young years of soccer, baseball, basketball, and whatever else comes his way. It is so great! We are in the tournament right now and here are some great shots my sister got of Rex. Thanks for being such supportive fans Ike and Ollie!

Lately..........part 1
The month of May is always so crazy. With school testing, last minute field trips, school programs, dance recitals, parties, and plenty of soccer and baseball. Yes, it is busy and I do feel like we are running from one thing to the next, but I do love all of it! It is so fun to see how much your kids have learned in the past year and how much they love their friends and teachers. It is so rewarding to see them thriving and loving their environments.
First, Rex has been part of the Bonneville Bubs Ukulele band this year at school. They put on a little concert for the end of the year.
The Gallery stroll was another big hit too. Rex and Lucy were so very proud of all the great art they produced this year. It is always such a highlight. Unfortunately , Lucy was the only one dying to pose by her art. Here are a few of their pieces.

Rex's African mask
And, Fency the Pirate is back. When Rex was a little guy and was a pirate for Halloween he named himself,Fency....we don't know why. Molly had a pirate birthday party on Saturday and wanted to pull out Rex's old digs.
