"Obla di Obla Dah"

(This was our weekend in Park City for Spring Break)

What are we going to do without these guys around. Boo!!! I am all for moving away from home, I think every family needs it. I am sure they are going to have a great , fun adventure, but boy oh boy if it were up to me I would have my sister and her kids stay here forever!!

**The title of this post is the Beatles "Life goes On"(otherwise known as the Polka-dot song or the Molly song).... a song all five of our kids love and rock out to everytime we are in the car together.

Molly Sings the Classics

The other day I was walking through the house and happened to pass Molly. I looked up and realized that she was walking down the hall singing something to herself. When I stopped to listen I could hear her singing "wole it, wole it . . ." doing hand motions and everything. Turns out she was singing this:

The spontenaity of that moment isn't repeated in these videos, but I still had to capture and share some of these songs, because Molly's such a cuter singer lately.

"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"

Once in a while you go through a phase as a mom where you just don't click with one of your children. I have found this to be true with each of my kids at different times. After a week or so of this occurring I have to get to the bottom of it. This time it was my dear Lucy, who is normally our sunshine girl, happy, loves to be with the family , pretty easy going, etc. Lately, she just hasn't been right. At first I thought it was linked to all her ear infections since January. She can't seem to kick them, but then when we got through that she was just off her game. Breaking down more often, not obeying, and mostly acting out here and there. She would do things she has never done like trip molly when she walked by or constantly disobey us. She was also having a lot harder time with my ever leaving her. If I was going to the gym she wanted to come, wanting to tag along to my meetings, or to bookclub. She was definitely needing more one on one time. Her love language seems to be time. She needs a little time for just her once in awhile. Even if it is just me helping her get dressed, which I know she can do all on her own, but she just loves the company. I am actually sort of the same way I guess. She is so good about being at all of Rex's basketball games, soccer games, and now baseball games. She is great about just joining with all Rex's playdates, but I think she had hit a little wall. I realized this, and it just happened to be her parent day at dance this week.....perfect! Now, this isn't just parents come and watch. This is me coming and me dancing. It was so much fun. It was one of the best stretches I have in a long time, and also a great little date for Lucy and I. I have noticed a difference already. She just needed a moment to shine , even for just an hour or so. I can attest that it is never easy to be the middle child. Oh, how I love this girl.

Davis and Melissa get Married

Last Friday Davis and Melissa got married. It was such fun day, and such a nice dinner. So great to see old friends there, and to have a great party to attend. They looked so happy, and we are so thrilled for them. Here are some highlights of the day.

Rex's Parental Side and His pure Love for the Cougs.

I took Molly to the Dr. on Friday for her 18 mos. check up, and I had another unexpected Molly caretaker along with me. As Dr. Witt asked questions about Molly and her well-being, ie....how well is she eating? How long does she sleep at night? Is she still a good napper, etc, etc...my little Rex was answering every question right along with me. "Yes Molly is an amazing eater. She is a great sleeper. Yes, she still naps everyday. She also has been kind of a bully in nursery ...so we have been working with her on that." All of this and more. It was hilarious and a little awkward at the same time. I would start to answer , but he always beat me to the punch, and we ended up just talking over each other. Even when I would tell him, "okay it is my turn now, Rex" , he just couldn't help himself when it came to his little Molly. He is such a protective older brother with her. He was really worried about the shot she had to get too. He brought her a sticker from home to put on her hand so she could concentrate on that and not on the shot. He and I both held her hand the whole way through. It was really sweet to see such a sensitive side of him. I think she has definitely brought that out in him.




Rex and I filled out March Madness brackets this year, mainly because Ry refuses for some strange, totally annoying reason we can't figure out, and because I knew Rex would LOVE to do it. We each sat down and went over the teams. I have really no idea how good any of these teams are with the exception of Utah teams. So I mainly pick them for reasons like , if I like the state or not, if I think their name is cool, if they have cool colors, if at one time or another my Dad told me they were good schools, and if I have been there or not. Basically we were both shooting from the hip here. Rex of course took the Sad Cougars all the way to the end, with Temple University coming in a close second only because "Temple is a good word."



He wasn't too miffed when they lost their game, but when he found out that meant they were out, he was really distressed. When Ryan broke the bad news to him he said "Ohhhhh! I planned all those games for them!" I love how loyal he is to those Cougs.
